"That guy isn't losing. Cain's doing great. He's on point. He's looking great, physically, mentally everything's right. The goal with him, he wants to come out and he wants to make a statement. And that I will say. He's going to make a statement in that fight. So he's going to remind everybody why he's best. I'm being honest with you - Werdum's going to get destroyed. That's just the way I look at it, and Cain's looking at it the same way. We're either going to stop him or we're going to hurt him really bad. He's going to get a worse beating than dos Santos if he makes five rounds, and that's a fact."
-Cain Velasquez's coach, Javier Mendez, talks to MMAFighting.com about Velasquez's return against Fabricio Werdum at UFC 188 this June.
Penick's Analysis: It would be great to see Velasquez return strong, because there is valid concern about how he's going to look after so much time out of action. The injury issues have been to areas that require significant rehab, and that's surely affected his training and preparation as well. That said, he's a fantastic talent at his best, and if he comes back strong here, he can try to put the injury issues behind him. I don't think Werdum's going to be an easy out, but if that's what happens for Velasquez it will be even more impressive.
