The first three fights for the UFC on Fox 16 event in Chicago this July are now set, and the card will be headlined by the twice-delayed rematch between T.J. Dillashaw and Renan Barao for the UFC Bantamweight Championship.
That fight was announced on Fox Sports 1's America's Pregame program on Tuesday afternoon, along with a bout between Anthony Pettis and Myles Jury, as well as the previously discussed fight between Miesha Tate and Jessica Eye.
Dillashaw and Barao were supposed to fight next week at UFC 186, but Dillashaw suffered an injury that forced the fight to be pushed back. Dillashaw captured the title from Barao last May, and defended it against Joe Soto at UFC 177 last August on a day's notice after Barao was hospitalized following a bad weight cut.
Pettis returns to action just a couple short hours from his home in Milwaukee, hoping to bounce back after losing the UFC Lightweight Championship to Rafael dos Anjos at UFC 185 last month. He's taking on Jury, who draws a stiff test while trying to get back on track after suffering his first career loss to Donald Cerrone in January.
As for Tate and Eye, the two women's bantamweights will be fighting to determine the No. 1 contender to Ronda Rousey's title, and the winner will face the winner of Rousey vs. Bethe Correia from UFC 190 a week later in Brazil.
The UFC on Fox 16 event hits the United Center in Chicago, Ill., on July 25.
