Jose Aldo and Conor McGregor still have a few more days together on the UFC 189 promotional world tour, but things are getting close to spilling over between the two.
As has been seen on the Embedded series this past week, the tension between the two has continued to rise, with McGregor trying to aggravate Aldo at every opportunity. That took a new turn during the latest stop before a morning show appearance in Toronto.
In an interview with The Fight Network on Friday, UFC President Dana White said a producer failed to handle seating the two of them adequately, allowing McGregor to nearly set Aldo off.
"He's trying to put Conor McGregor in a seat behind [Aldo] and Conor McGregor reached over and slapped Aldo's back," White said (transcribed via MMAFighting.com). "And now Aldo is crazy and doesn't want to do most the stuff we have to do today. It's been fun."
"Jose Aldo does not like Conor McGregor, and Conor McGregor is good at pushing his buttons."
Penick's Analysis: To this point, Aldo has shown some considerable patience, but that could start wearing rather thin the longer this tour drags on. McGregor's been quite effective in the role he's embraced, and I'd expect this to continue heating up as they finish out the tour this week. It's just too bad we have to wait another three months for the fight itself to get here.
