Fresh off one of the most impressive wins of his career, Beneil Dariush is stepping up on a few weeks notice to face Jim Miller at UFC on Fox 15.
The UFC announced on Friday that Miller's original opponent, Paul Felder, was out of the card due to injury, with Dariush taking the bout just over a month after his UFC 185 win over Daron Cruickshank.
Dariush picked Cruickshank apart on the feet in that fight, eventually forcing it to the ground and securing a rear naked choke for the win in the second round. It was his third straight victory, and fourth in five UFC appearances.
31-year-old Miller is a long time staple of the UFC's lightweight division, making his return to action for the first time since his loss to Donald Cerrone last July. That head kick KO loss snapped a two-fight winning streak, and was the first time he'd ever been stopped by strikes in his 30-fight MMA career.
The New Jersey native returns home for this card, which hits Newark on April 18. The card is headlined by a middleweight matchup between Luke Rockhold and Lyoto Machida.
