"I offered him a fight in Montreal, and he said 'I'm not ready yet.' I'm on the fence, I'm leaning toward he's not coming back these days... He's rich and really doesn't doesn't have to do anything anymore if he doesn't want to. He's filming some movies. You know the Jean-Claude Van Damme movie 'Kickboxer'? They're remaking it with him. So he's filming that, and he's doing some fun stuff. I was in L.A. one night and I went to the Clippers game, Georges St-Pierre is sitting over there in the front row. I went out one night to a concert, Georges St-Pierre is in the front row. Fighting is one of those sports that you got to be hungry, and you got to want it. He hasn't been hungry in a long time for a lot of things... He's got a lot of money, he's young, he's got a lot of other options, and he's going out on top."
-UFC President Dana White talks to Fox Sports' Jay and Dan podcast about Georges St-Pierre and why he's steering towards the belief that the former Champ is not going to return.
Penick's Analysis: The longer St-Pierre remains happy and healthy outside of the Octagon, the more likely it is his hiatus becomes permanent. Obviously White and the UFC held out some hope they could get him back for a big pay-per-view after he was out for well over a year, but as we hit 16 months since the exiting Welterweight Championship's last fight, it should be clearer and clearer that he's not likely to return. With that in mind, the UFC will move forward without him, and turn their attention to the many other fights they've got coming up this year.
