"Anderson has been a huge part of this company and regardless of how this thing comes out, we're going to support the guy. He's going to go before the Nevada Athletic Commission and I have no idea what's going to happen. I know there were some rumors down here that he's only going to get 18 months. I don't believe that's true and I don't know how anyone would know anything like that. That's just a rumor. We'll see what happens when he goes before the commission."
-Dana White tells reporters in Brazil that the UFC will be standing behind Anderson Silva no matter what happens when the former Middleweight Champ has his upcoming hearing with the Nevada Athletic Commission (via MMAFighting.com).
Penick's Analysis: Given their initial statement when news of his failed test broke, there's no surprise in the UFC sticking behind him here. It's not necessarily a great look to stand behind and support a fighter who fails a steroid test, but they're more than willing to give him the benefit of the doubt right now, and are taking the "wait and see" approach to his hearing with the commission.
