With Josh Thomson injured and off next month's UFC Fight Night 62 card in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, the fight between Erick Silva and Ben Saunders has been promoted to the co-main event.
The UFC announced the shift on Friday, stating as well that Thomson's originally scheduled opponent, Gilbert Burns, will now take on newcomer Alex Oliveira on the card.
Saunders is eying his third straight win since returning to the UFC last summer, following up on an omoplata win over Chris Heatherly and an injury stoppage win over Joe Riggs. Silva has been inconsistent in his UFC run, but he's entering this event off a slick technical submission win over Mike "Biggie" Rhodes in December.
Burns is undefeated in his MMA career thus far, which includes two victories in the Octagon, and he's entering his third UFC bout off a submission win last October.
UFC Fight Night 62 airs live on Fox Sports 1 on March 21, headlined by the welterweight bout between Demian Maia and Ryan LaFlare.
