UFC 187 has added another set of intriguing matchups, as it was announced at the tail end of UFC Tonight on Fox Sports 1 that Rose Namajunas vs. Nina Ansaroff and Justin Scoggins vs. Josh Sampo are both set for the card.
Namajunas makes her second appearance in the Octagon after a failed bid to capture the first-ever UFC Women's Strawweight Championship in December. She made her way impressively to the finals against Carla Esparza, but was submitted by the Invicta Champ in that title matchup.
She'll take on Ansaroff, who lost her UFC debut last November in a decision against Juliana Lima.
Flyweights Scoggins and Sampo are both seeking to halt two-fight losing streaks in the Octagon. Scoggins ran his record to a perfect 9-0 with wins in his first two UFC bouts, but he's since been beat by Dustin Ortiz and John Moraga. Sampo entered the UFC on a four-fight winning streak and made it five in a row in his debut, but then lost consecutive 2014 fights to Zach Makovsky and Patrick Holohan.
UFC 187 airs live on pay-per-view on May 23, headlined by the UFC Light Heavyweight Championship between Jon Jones and Anthony Johnson.
