The UFC's February schedule continues to blow up, as Ariel Helwani reported on the Fox Sports 1 weigh-in special for UFC 183 that Stephen Thompson has suffered a rib injury, taking him out of the replacement main event at UFC Fight Night 60 in Broomfield, Colo.
That makes it the fourth main event fight scheduled in February to ultimately get canceled due to injury, following that card's originally scheduled fight between Matt Brown and Tarec Saffiedine, UFC Fight Night 61's Rashad Evans-Glover Teixeira bout, and UFC 184's Chris Weidman vs. Vitor Belfort Title fight.
There's no word on what will now headline the Feb. 14 event in Broomfield. The top fight remaining at the moment if a replacement isn't found to face Thatch is Max Holloway vs. Cole Miller.
Penick's Analysis: This is an insane amount of injury issues for main events in one month. Everything that could go right for the UFC in January did, and just about everything that could go wrong for February has. Brutal.
DON'T GO YET... WE SUGGEST THESE MMATORCH ARTICLES, TOO!
