Two intriguing new fights have been added to UFC Fight Night 62 in Rio de Janeiro this March, as the UFC announced on Thursday that Godofredo Pepey vs. Andre Fili and Amanda Nunes vs. Shayna Baszler are both set for the card.
Through his first four UFC fights, Pepey scored just one split decision, and was stopped in two of his three losses in that stretch. However, he's won two straight fights in the first round, scoring a beautiful flying knee over Noad Lahat and taking out Dashon Johnson with a mounted triangle choke/armbar combination.
He'll take on Hawaii's Fili, who has won two of his three appearances in the Octagon thus far. After a TKO win on short notice over Jeremy Larsen, he was submitted by Max Holloway, but he got back on track in his next fight, taking a decision over Felipe Arantes.
Nunes won her first two fights in the UFC in 2013, but in her only 2014 appearance, she got stopped by Cat Zingano. She'll now take on Baszler, who fights for the second time in the UFC after a TKO loss to Bethe Correia in her official debut last August.
UFC Fight Night 62 airs live on Fox Sports 1 on March 21, headlined by the bantamweight matchup between Urijah Faber and Raphael Assuncao.
