A light heavyweight matchup between Ovince St. Preux and Patrick Cummins is headed to New Jersey this April, as the UFC on Wednesday announced that the fight will take place at UFC on Fox 15.
St. Preux enters off the biggest win of his career, having knocked out former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Mauricio "Shogun" Rua in November. St. Preux took that fight on a week's notice after Rua's original opponent, Jimi Manuwa, was forced out with injury. The victory got him back in the win column after a decision loss to Ryan Bader last summer, and was his fifth win in six UFC fights.
Cummins made the most of his UFC opportunity in 2014, fighting four times after getting tapped as a late replacement himself in his UFC debut. He lost quickly to Daniel Cormier in that short notice fight last February, but turned it around with wins over Roger Narvaez, Kyle Kingsbury, and Antonio Carlos Junior over the next ten months.
UFC on Fox 15 airs live from the Prudential Center on April 18, headlined by the middleweight bout between Lyoto Machida and Luke Rockhold.
