UFC Light Heavyweight Champ Jon Jones will face Anthony Johnson next after Saturday's UFC on Fox 14 event, and in the wake of the card he gave his thoughts on the top five in the division.
Jones asked fans first for their thoughts on Twitter, and after seeing a number of suggestions he gave the following as his list:
Jones continued the discussion after that, commenting on what he felt were his toughest fights (he named Alexander Gustafsson, Stephan Bonnar, and Vitor Belfort), and also sounded like he's ready to move on from 205 lbs. with this comment:
After this fight I've cleared the division trust me I'm excited @ballyduffman
Penick's Analysis: Jones may have to move on to heavyweight, or he'll face a long string of rematches. He's cleared out so many fighters in that division; though he could stick around for more fights against the likes of Gustafsson, Cormier, Evans, and more, a heavyweight move could be more intriguing, even as he pushed away from that idea earlier this month. If he beats Rumble, he'll have his choice of what to do next, but he's got a solid list of top fighters here, and if he's interested enough to fight some of these guys again, he'll do that.
