After scoring his seventh straight UFC win last weekend, Donald Cerrone said he was eying some time off and then a fight this spring with Khabib Nurmagomedov.
The Russian lightweight contender seems fine with that, and he knows when he'd like to take that fight.
UFC 187 is the UFC's Memorial Day weekend show, which is likely to be headlined by the Featherweight Championship bout between Jose Aldo and Conor McGregor.
Penick's Analysis: It'd be better for timing in the division if this fight happened in April, but if Nurmagomedov needs the extra month, he needs the extra month. It's more than likely that this will push the next Lightweight Title fight to August instead of July, unless the UFC 187 winner can turn around quick, of course. That's entirely possible, and if Anthony Pettis beats Rafael dos Anjos and wants to fight in Vegas on July 11, the UFC may try to make that happen.
