UFC Women's Bantamweight Champ "Rowdy" Ronda Rousey has shown an affinity for the world of pro wrestling during her UFC run. Her nickname is an homage to "Rowdy" Roddy Piper, she appeared on screen and went backstage at the WWE's Summerslam pay-per-view this summer, and even played a part in an indy wrestling match in California this year as well.
While she may not ever actually make a transition to pro wrestling, she says if it happens she'll be coming in as the bad guy.
"Oh I would be a heel for sure," Rousey said in an interview with TalkSport.com when asked what part she'd play as a pro wrestler. "I can't take the name of 'Rowdy' and not be a heel, that would be an insult to the man I pay tribute to with my name - the great Rowdy Roddy Piper.
"I would have to try and live up to his legacy as much as possible and I can't do that being a babyface."
Penick's Analysis: As it is, there's a lot of people who love to hate Rousey for whatever reason, so it probably wouldn't be too big a stretch for her to transition to that role in pro wrestling. Now, it's not just something people can jump into, and I doubt she's going to have the desire to go through the training necessary to take part in that profession, not with the money she'll have coming her way in movies and more UFC fights, so it's just her talking at this point.
