In lieu of a "Fight of the Night" award on Saturday at UFC Fight Night 58, the UFC opted to hand out four "Performance of the Night" bonuses instead.
Lyoto Machida, Renan Barao, Erick Silva, and Vitor Miranda were each awarded $50,000 for their efforts in victory on the card, which aired on Fox Sports 1 from Barueri, Sao Paulo, Brazil.
Machida needed just 62 seconds to stop C.B. Dollaway in the night's main event, cracking him with a brutal body kick that buckled Dollaway. He followed up with strikes at the cage and Dollaway could only cover up.
Barao had a tough fight in the co-main event against Mitch Gagnon, but finished things off in the third round after scoring a takedown. He quickly moved to an arm triangle choke, securing it and forcing Gagnon to tap.
Silva made quick work of Mike "Biggie" Rhodes, getting him to the ground, securing an arm triangle choke of his own, and putting Rhodes out cold.
As for Miranda, he got the night started with a come from behind head kick win in the opening bout. He was clearly losing the first frame before cracking Jake Collier late and getting the stoppage with one second left in the round.
