With Carla Esparza capturing the first UFC Women's Strawweight Championship on Friday night, it seemed things were lining up for her and Claudia Gadelha to finally have their title fight after it had fallen apart twice in Invicta. However, Joanna Jedrzejczyk threw a wrench in those plans, defeating Gadelha by split decision at UFC on Fox 13.

The fight was highly competitive, but Jedrzejczyk's striking game gave her the edge, and it was that aspect of her game that had UFC President Dana White highly impressed after the event.

"I love the way this girl fights. I love her striking," White said (via MMAJunkie.com. "That was one of those fights that, people were asking me if I thought she won. I've got no problem with her winning, and if they raised Claudia's hand, I'd have no problem with it. That's how close that fight was. It was a super close fight."

As Gadelha was in line for the first shot at Esparza with a win, White said Jedrzejczyk is more than likely getting that shot herself.

"Yeah," White said plainly, "she's probably going to get the next shot."

Penick's Analysis: Jedrzeczyk and Gadelha looked every bit as good or better than anyone on the TUF 20 cast through their fights in the UFC this year, and the competitiveness of their bout on Saturday was a testament to that. Gadelha had an argument for the fight somewhat, but it seemed clearer in Jedrzejczyk's favor, and the Polish striker absolutely deserves her shot at the title.
