"I truly believe I beat John Moraga, so in my eyes, I'm undefeated in the UFC. [Beating Joseph Benavidez] would put me at 5-0, and if that's unworthy of a title shot, I don't know what is... His [holes] are just super small, and it's going to be hard to exploit those. It's ultimately going to come down to being better than him that night, getting after it every second of the fight."
-Dustin Ortiz talks to MMAJunkie.com about his fight with Joseph Benavidez tonight at UFC Fight Night 57, and why he feels a win warrants a title bout.
Penick's Analysis: If Ortiz pulls the upset off over Benavidez, and does so in exciting and impressive fashion, I'm on board for giving him a shot. He'd be more deserving than Chris Cariaso was, and in this division where Champ Demetrious Johnson is in need of new blood, it would be a sensible matchup to make. Getting past Benavidez is an extremely tough task, though, and only Johnson and Dominick Cruz have been able to accomplish it thus far. I don't think it happens for Ortiz tonight, but if it does, give the man his shot.
