Raquel Pennington will remain on the UFC 181 card after the injury to Holly Holm, as UFC newcomer Ashlee Evans-Smith has stepped in on short notice for the bout.
The UFC announced the matchup on Wednesday, which is expected to take place on the main card on pay-per-view.
Pennington, who entered the UFC last winter out of The Ultimate Fighter 18, has split her two appearances in the UFC to keep her at .500 in her MMA career. She defeated Roxanne Modafferi in her official debut, then dropped a split decision to Jessica Andrade in her most recent appearance in March.
The undefeated Evans-Smith most recently picked up a win in June on a World Series of Fighting event, stopping Marciea Allen in the third round.
UFC 181 takes place from Las Vegas on Dec. 6, headlined by two title fights in Johny Hendricks vs. Robbie Lawler and Anthony Pettis vs. Gilbert Melendez.
