"I never thought doing what I love to do would end up with me being a role model, it's not a role im comfortable with if I'm honest but it is pretty cool letting people know, especially youngsters that if you work hard you can follow your dreams. It took so long for (female) fighters to get the recognition they deserve as professional athletes. Just watched the next episode of [TUF] and it's just sad to see how others are representing (woman's) MMA and instead of showcasing professional athletes they're living up to some of the stereotypes that held us back for so long."
-Joanne Calderwood had some negative things to say about some fellow castmembers on The Ultimate Fighter 20 in a posting on Facebook.
Penick's Analysis: Calderwood was outspoken when Tecia Torres was booed, and she spoke up against the bullying nature of some of the women on Team Melendez. Given this week's episode is featuring another Felice Herrig fight, and there's already been some considerably negative feelings between her and some others she's faced. It's likely the talking, bullying, and other negativity continue in tonight's episode, and that's what Calderwood is addressing here, but that's something we'll find out tonight. Regardless, Calderwood has conducted herself well throughout her time on the show, and she obviously has no plans to change that afterward.
