"Vitor is the No. 1 contender. What were my feelings when he got put back [in that spot]? My feelings were this: That is a huge benefit for Chris Weidman, simply because Vitor was on testosterone replacement therapy for a long time, and that does have an impact on your body and the amount of muscle you carry. The longer you are off the testosterone you were prescribed to take by a doctor, the more physical changes your body will make. But we could be talking over a year when he hasn’t been on the prescriptions he was before. I think the longer it goes before that fight happens, the more Chris Weidman will benefit. Vitor's gonna be weaker, slower, not as strong."

-Michael Bisping gives his thoughts on how Vitor Belfort will be affected post-TRT into his fight with Chris Weidman at UFC 184 during a pre-UFC Fight Night 55 conference call this week (transcribed by Sherdog.com).

Penick's Analysis: It seems like a fair assumption to make. Belfort was benefiting from the testosterone treatment, that's why he was using it. Take that benefit away, and there's going to be some type of negative effect unless he's taking other things to offset that. If that's the case (and it very well could be considering Belfort hasn't been tested at all since failing the random test in February), then perhaps he'll bounce back without much difference. That's why he should be getting tested during this time between fights, but if he has simply gone ahead without the treatment and without taking anything else, there's going to be some type of negative difference to what he can do.
