Conor McGregor isn't resting on his laurels into 2015, taking a fight with Dennis Siver to keep himself busy until a title opportunity is lined up. In Siver, McGregor is facing an opponent who is just a fight removed from a failed drug test for HCG, and the Irishman had plenty to say about that in a media scrum following his fan Q&A in Brazil on Friday.

"I'm going to go in there and I'm going to rip his head off. I'm going to punish him for it," McGregor said (transcribed by MMAFighting.com). "Every fighter poses a threat. I will not overlook any man. He has cheated in the past, that's another thing I will use to get in and put him out a bit more. He was caught with the stuff that hides it. That's how deep he was in that. How deep was he in that game that he was actually using stuff to hide it from the testing. That, to me, I don't respect that in a bit."

As to why he took the fight in the first place, McGregor believes himself to be the best in the world, so it doesn't matter who he has to fight and when, he'll do so for the paycheck.

"I think a lot of people they have that approach, they sit out and wait," said McGregor. "But in my mind, the belt is already wrapped around my waist. I walk about like I am already the champion. It is about money. I'm fit. I'm healthy. I want to compete as much as possible. I tried to get on the Mexico card a few weeks back. They pulled that. When Joe Lauzon got injured I tried to get on that again. I pulled that. So I just want to continue fighting. In my mind, its not a risk. I am the world champion eliminating contenders. I said before, one by one, each one of them will be gone. I am in the process of that."

Penick's Analysis: It's an apt position to take, because if he truly believes he's the best, he's going to have to beat anyone they put in front of him anyway. It doesn't matter that he "risks" losing out on a title fight, because he might be the first to admit he doesn't deserve the spot if he can't beat someone lower than the man with the belt. So if it means more paychecks, more notoriety, etc., he's going to continue stepping in there whether a belt is on the line or not.
