"The featherweight division is going off right now. It's a good problem to have. 'Oh my God, there's too many guys that could fight for the title!' That's a great problem to have... If Jose Aldo wins a couple more fights, we were talking about him fighting Anthony Pettis. That fight could happen. Anything is possible."
-UFC President Dana White talks to USA Today about why a potential Jose Aldo-Anthony Pettis fight could still happen, but not until Aldo wins a few more fights against his top featherweight challengers.
Penick's Analysis: I think the ship has sailed on this fight actually happening. Aldo's cooled on making a move up to lightweight, and with the emergence of Conor McGregor, and a number of other names lining up in the division for a shot, he's also got plenty of fights available at 145 lbs. Considering Pettis still needs to fight to keep the lightweight division moving, he's got a lot still left to do before an Aldo fight makes sense again as well.
