A middleweight bout between Nate Marquardt and Brad Tavares is heading to UFC 182 in Las Vegas this December, according to a report from Adam Hill at the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
The 35-year-old Marquardt returned to the 185 lb. field in June, halting a three fight winning streak with an impressive submission win over James Te Huna. The armbar win was his first victory since knocking out Tyron Woodley to capture the Strikeforce Welterweight title in July of 2012.
Tavares, meanwhile, is in desperate need of a win. The 26-year-old had won five straight fights in the UFC prior to April of this year, where he dropped a decision to Yoel Romero. That was followed up with a TKO loss to Tim Boetsch, which is the first time he's ever lost two straight.
UFC 182 will hit Las Vegas on Jan. 3, airing live on pay-per-view with two title fights on top of the card.
