With Joe Lauzon forced out of his fight with Diego Sanchez at UFC 180 on Wednesday, it was assumed the UFC was looking for a replacement to face Sanchez. As it turns out, that's not necessary.
The UFC announced on Thursday that Sanchez himself has suffered an injury, with Mexico's Induscidito reporting that it was a ligament injury in his knee taking him out of the event.
With the removal of that fight, the pay-per-view main card will now open with the welterweight bout between Hector Urbina and Edgar Garcia, and the event will move forward with 11 total fights.
The loss of this bout comes just two days after a change in the main event, as UFC Champ Cain Velasquez suffered a knee injury of his own, leading to Mark Hunt moving into the fight with Fabricio Werdum for the Interim Title.
