Ronda Rousey's next title defense will officially come to UFC 182 on January 3, as Fox Sports 1's UFC Tonight program reported on Wednesday night that her expected fight with Cat Zingano has been signed.
The confirmation for the bout comes from UFC President Dana White, following up on UFC Owner Lorenzo Fertitta's comments last weekend that they were close to finalizing the bout.
Zingano gets her shot at the title following a win over Alexis Davis last month in her first fight in a year and a half. The tumultuous time off nevertheless brought her back to the spot she earned with a win over Miesha Tate last April, and she'll now get her shot at Rousey.
Rousey's made four title defenses under the UFC banner, submitting Liz Carmouche and Miesha Tate before making quick work of both Sara McMann and Alexis Davis with her striking in 2014.
