UFC 180 has taken another hit, as MMAJunkie.com reports that Joe Lauzon has been forced out of his fight with Diego Sanchez on the card.
There's no reason yet known for his removal, but it would mark the second opponent switch for Sanchez, who was originally scheduled to fight Norman Parke on the card on Nov. 15.
The fight was likely to kick off the pay-per-view main card from Mexico City, which had its main event change on Tuesday with the injury to UFC Heavyweight Champion Cain Velasquez. The UFC is likely seeking a replacement to keep Sanchez on the card.
Penick's Analysis: This is another injury the UFC just didn't need for this card. It was an already weakened lineup, and losing one of the fights that was still anticipated for the event doesn't help things at all. I'm not sure if they'll attempt to revisit the insane idea of a Sanchez-Conor McGregor fight on short notice, but I'm also not sure what options are available for Sanchez that make for entertaining or meaningful matchups either.
