Daniel Cormier's been serving as a frequent co-host to Kenny Florian on Fox Sports 1's UFC Tonight program since this summer, and now it's become a permanent gig.
According to a report from FoxSports.com, Cormier has been named the permanent co-host for the show, which typically airs on the network on Wednesday nights. He takes the role on even as he prepares for his shot at UFC Light Heavyweight Champ Jon Jones, as they fight Jan. 3 at UFC 182.
"I love being a part of UFC on Fox family and extending my mixed martial arts career," Cormier said. "The TV analyst role is exciting, fun and actually improves my fighting skills, because I see the action so differently now. I look forward to working with the team each week on UFC Tonight and vow to bring the Light Heavyweight Title belt with me to the desk in January.
Penick's Analysis: It's a bit of a formality at this point, as he pretty much took this role over once Chael Sonnen was fired in the summer. He's done as good of a job as any in that role thus far, and if it's something he feels he can juggle while still training to fight, then it makes sense to make it a more permanent thing for him.
