A report out of Canadian publication RDS on Wednesday got hopes up for Georges St-Pierre fans, as it stated the former Welterweight Champion had made up his mind to come back for at least one more fight.
However, St-Pierre and his longtime head trainer Firas Zahabi have since refuted that report.
St-Pierre denied the RDS report, telling Ariel Helwani at MMAFighting.com that he hadn't yet made up his mind. Zahabi added that St-Pierre "has absolutely no return plan [right now]."
The former Champ relinquished his title in December after deciding to take a hiatus from the sport, and suffered a knee injury earlier this year to boot.
Penick's Analysis: St-Pierre's still waiting to see the UFC implement meaningful drug testing, and only when that happens will it be a possibility. Even then, given the many comments he's made since taking his hiatus, I just don't know that he's all that keen to get back in there. He seems to be enjoying his time away from the sport, and if he doesn't care to come back, he won't.
