Dominick Cruz returned to the cage on Saturday for the first time in nearly three years, and picked up one of his most impressive wins ever in the process.
Taking on Takeya Mizugaki at UFC 178, Cruz scored a beautiful takedown off a quick level change, followed Mizugaki to the cage as he tried to escape, and then demolished him with a series of right hands up against the cage.
Mizugaki tried to move out, but his arm got caught up by Cruz, and the right hands continued flying. Finally, the referee stepped in to stop the fight, giving Cruz the win in just 1:01 in his first fight since Oct. 1, 2011.
After the bout, Cruz said he was ready to get back to beating more "Alpha Fails," and it seems a fight with Champ T.J. Dillashaw is all but assured for his next fight.
