Mark Hunt and Roy Nelson lived up to the promise of a brawl today at UFC Fight Night 52, and it was Hunt coming out on top.
In a bit of a shocking finish, given Nelson's ability to absorb a great amount of punishment, Hunt scored a walk off KO in the second round, face-planting Nelson with a sick uppercut against the cage.
The win was Hunt's fifth in his last seven fights, and fourth in that stretch by stoppage. It was his first win since March of 2013, as he lost to Junior dos Santos last May before fighting to a five round draw with Bigfoot Silva in December.
As for Nelson, he once again falls short in his bid to make it toward title contention, as he loses his third fight in his last four bouts. It was also the first time he'd been stopped by strikes in the UFC, and you have to go back to 2008 for the last loss he suffered by strikes.
