Lyoto Machida and C.B. Dollaway are officially set to square off this December, as the UFC confirmed on Wednesday that the discussed fight will head to a UFC Fight Night event in Barueri, Brazil, on Dec. 20.
The fight had been in the works for a bit after the UFC opted to book Luke Rockhold against Michael Bisping in November. Machida's camp named Dollaway as their second choice for his return fight, and he's gotten his wish, giving Dollaway the biggest opportunity of his career in the process.
Machida returns for the first time since his loss to Chris Weidman at UFC 175. The five round fight was very close, but Machida failed to capture his second divisional title within the UFC.
As for Dollaway, the Ultimate Fighter season 7 runner-up has been on a fairly resurgent run over the last two and a half years, winning four of five fights, with the sole loss coming by split decision against Tim Boetsch, a decision which many felt should have gone the other way. In his most recent outing, he defeated Francis Carmont by decision in May.
