With the UFC going with Luke Rockhold vs. Michael Bisping this November, a new fight is needed for Lyoto Machida.
To that end, the UFC is looking to give Machida his second choice, as Ariel Helwani reported on the most recent episode of UFC Tonight on Fox Sports 1 Wednesday night that the organization is targeting Machida for a fight with C.B. Dollaway at an as of yet unannounced Dec. 20 event in Brazil.
Machida requested that matchup recently when it seemed Rockhold-Bisping could come together, and the UFC apparently thinks it's a good idea as well.
The former UFC Lightweight Champ will try to bounce back from a decision loss to Chris Weidman in a close title fight at UFC 175, while Dollaway will try to score the biggest win of his MMA career. The 31-year-old has won four of his last five fights, most recently defeating Francis Carmont in an impressive performance at UFC Fight Night 41 in Germany.
