Dana White threw out some conflicting messages regarding UFC 177 on Saturday night, once again telling fans not to order if they don't want to watch while railing against "so-called journalists" for telling fans essentially the same.
In an exchange with one fan on Twitter, White echoed comments he's made time and again when people have complained about a fight card.
@laralec STFU dork, who asked u to buy it? Did I ask u to buy tonight's card? U don't want to watch fights tonight then rent The Notebook
But on the prelims broadcast Saturday night, White went off on what he said were "so-called" media members writing stories telling people not to watch the card tonight. He called that "disgusting," and ran down the merits of those on the card, trying to argue that it was indeed worth a pay-per-view purchase.
Penick's Analysis: For years White has been telling fans not to order events or not to watch events if they don't want to, yet he gets indignant at the suggestion from some that this card isn't worth ordering? I can't recall seeing anyone flat out writing "don't buy UFC 177," but it was certainly an argument that could have had some merit. Look, if you like the fighters on the card and think it's worth your pay-per-view purchase, go ahead and buy it. If you don't, don't. With how it looks right now, most are probably going with option #2 tonight.
