With the Renan Barao injury giving Joe Soto a title fight tomorrow at UFC 177, it means for the first time ever that a former Bellator Champ is fighting for the UFC Title.
That led to some comments from the former Bellator Champ the UFC decided not to bring in earlier this year, Ben Askren, starting with a little urging from our own Rich Hansen on Twitter.
Penick's Analysis: Askren should be in the UFC already, no question, and he certainly picked the right time to take a jab at the UFC. Now, it's not going to necessarily endear him to them at all, but it was worth saying, and it's a true point. That Soto is getting a title fight tomorrow - no matter the circumstances involved - while the UFC opted not to sign Askren, is a completely asinine reality.
DON'T GO YET... WE SUGGEST THESE MMATORCH ARTICLES, TOO!
