After gaining a reputation for some dull decision fights, Dong Hyun Kim made the decision to change up his style to become more aggressive and exciting. It worked out for him in his last two fights, as he scored some very fun wins, but it was bound to eventually work against him.
That's just what happened Saturday morning in China, as Kim's recklessness got the best of him at UFC Fight Night 48.
In the co-main event of the card on UFC Fight Pass, Kim pressed in against Tyron Woodley early on with a few spinning attacks, and as he threw a spinning back fist, Woodley timed a counter and connected behind Kim's right ear. The Korean fighter hit the ground, Woodley followed up with several brutal strikes on the ground, and the fight came to an end.
It snapped a four-fight winning streak for Kim, while it gave Woodley his fourth stoppage win in his last six fights.
