Bellator's interest in Gina Carano seems to have been short-lived. While that seemed to be clear with them booking Marloes Coenen vs. Julia Budd for the introduction of their featherweight division, Scott Coker said on Monday's MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani that Carano's not looking to fight at featherweight if she comes back at all.
"We've had one quick conversation, and that was it," Coker said (transcribed by LowKickMMA.com). "There was nothing really made of it, I think that Gina [Carano] wants to fight at 135. We don't have a 135 lb. division. It's going to be really up to her."
Carano's been in talks with the UFC for a few months now, with them interested in booking her against a fight Champ Ronda Rousey, so if she returns, that's where it's likely to come.
Penick's Analysis: The bigger money is in the UFC for Carano, even if it's a one time thing. For a return spectacle fight, Ronda Rousey's the one that makes sense on that front for her. It may yet not happen, but if she does want to return, she should make it happen in the UFC.
