There's been a late change to Saturday's UFC Fight Night 49 event in Tulsa, Okla., as Mirsad Bektic has suffered an injury, taking him out of a fight with Max Holloway.
Holloway will remain on the card, though, as the UFC is bringing in newcomer Clay Collard in on short notice for the event. The organization announced the switch on Monday.
Collard began his career with a 4-3 mark over a six month span in 2011. He didn't slow down from there, but did keep things mostly on the winning side, going 9-1 with one no contest since then. His sole loss in that stretch came against UFC vet Justin Buchholz, though he would avenge that loss in September of last year.
He now steps up on five day's notice to take on Holloway, who enters the Octagon for the ninth time already at just 22-years-old. Holloway's gone 5-3 in his UFC run, with his losses coming to high end competition in Dustin Poirier, Dennis Bermudez, and Conor McGregor. He's riding a two fight winning streak into this event, stopping Will Chope in January and submitting Andre Fili in April.
Saturday's event airs live on Fox Sports 1, headlined by the five round lightweight bout between Benson Henderson and Rafael dos Anjos.
