Ross Pearson bounced back from one of the biggest robberies in MMA history on Saturday night, taking out Gray Maynard in the second round at UFC Fight Nigth 47.
Pearson was in need of a win after judges denied him a rightful victory over Diego Sanchez earlier this year, and the win came by force in Maine on Fox Sports 1.
The bout was competitive early on, with Maynard looking better than he had in his last two outings. Unfortunately, his chin just isn't holding up for him anymore, as he got staggered with a short right hand in the second round, and Pearson sent him down with a combination up against the cage.
That flurry of strikes was too much, leaving Maynard to cover up and the ref to step in to stop the fight. He's now been stopped violently in three straight fights, while Pearson picks up his first official win since April of last year.
