Though they've yet to book a main event for Oct. 4 in Sweden, the UFC continues to fill the UFC Fight Night 53 card up, and the latest addition comes in the light heavyweight division, where Ilir Latifi will take on Jan Blachowicz.
Latifi stepped up on short notice for his UFC debut in April of 2013, replacing teammate Alexander Gustafsson against Gegard Mousasi in the UFC's last trip to Sweden. After a loss to Mousasi in that fight, Latifi returned in March of this year with a quick submission win over Cyrille Diabate, then added a quick KO over Chris Dempsey earlier this month.
He'll try to keep that momentum going against a debuting Blachowicz. The Polish fighter hasn't fought since March of 2013, but rides a five fight winning streak into his debut. He holds wins over several UFC vets in Goran Reljic, Houston Alexander, and Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou, and holds 11 stoppages in 17 career wins.
The UFC Fight Night 53 event is one of two cards from the UFC on Oct. 4, and will air in the U.S. on UFC Fight Pass.
