The UFC has been rumored to be bringing an event to Brazil this October, and now it appears a venue may be set for the UFC 179 event.

According to a report from Globo in Brazil, the UFC is targeting the Arena da Baixada in Curitiba for Oct. 25.

That venue is a stadium which could seat upwards of 50,000 spectators for a UFC event, which would rival the UFC 129 event at the Rogers Arena in Toronto from 2011.

Penick's Analysis: I'm not sure if they've got the fight available to sell out a stadium right now, but perhaps the Brazilian crowd will be behind Jose Aldo enough to make that work. As for Chad Mendes, while he's not going to be thrilled with the prospect of fighting Aldo in Brazil again, the chance to fight in front of 50,000 people, and an extra payday from the UFC more than likely, could work to entice him.
