"I've been saying all week that I'd finish this guy in the first round; I seem to be predicting the future. I just felt comfortable. This is what I was put here to do. Something tells me that by the end of the year, I'll be world champion. I would turn over every man, woman, and child to get that belt. And I want to fight again soon. I want to get straight back in there."

-Conor McGregor gives his prediction for the rest of 2014 after his UFC Fight Night 46 win on Saturday in Dublin, Ireland.

Penick's Analysis: It's not possible for him to capture the title before the year is out, simply because Jose Aldo won't be fighting Chad Mendes until October, and Aldo's never had a turnaround quick enough to put him in again before the end of 2014. Also, as McGregor has yet to fight or beat even a top ten name, he's at least two wins, if not three or four, away from being in that conversation. He's got to beat top level competition to earn his shot, but if and when he does that, he'll be in a spot to be a potentially big draw as a challenger.
