Though White didn't go into any further details on Twitter, multiple published reports have since confirmed the signing, with a bout against Brendan Schaub at UFC 174 expected.
The former UFC Heavyweight Champion last fought in the organization over six years ago at UFC 82, and exited on a three fight winning streak. He added wins over current UFC fighters Ben Rothwell and Roy Nelson before suffering a knockout loss to Fedor Emelianenko on Affliction's second - and ultimately final - event.
That began a stretch of four straight losses, but he's won six of his last eight with one no contest since then. The one loss came by decision to Anthony "Rumble" Johnson in the World Series of Fighting last year.
Penick's Analysis: This is such an odd and random signing. Apparently his deal with the World Series of Fighting came up, and he was talking to the UFC recently about coming back. Given the fighters they haven't brought in, giving another run to Arlovski at this stage just seems really strange.
