Though the UFC on Fox 11 overnight ratings were the lowest in series history, the final numbers, with West Coast viewership and the 30-minute overrun, moved it just above that mark.
According to Carleton Curtis, the Sr. Director of Digital Strategy at Fox Sports, Saturday's broadcast from Orlando drew 2.5 million average viewers, peaking with 3.3 million during the night's main event between Fabricio Werdum and Travis Browne.
Final UFC Werdum vs Browne live+SD ratings jumps to 2.5M avg viewers on FOX main card (3.3M = main event), 521K on FS1 prelims
That keeps it just above the UFC on Fox 8 event from last July, which drew just 2.4 million average viewers. It's also right on the line with UFC on Fox 3 and 4 from 2012, which also drew averages of 2.5 million viewers.
Penick's Analysis: A nice overrun spike along with the viewership out west makes this a less dire number than the overnight suggested. It's in line with the way the UFC has drawn in the spring and summer away from the NFL push on Fox, and given the still relative lack of name value possessed by both Werdum and Browne, it's not surprising in the least. The UFC still has issues with star power and their draw on network TV, but this isn't nearly as bad as it looked initially.
