Rich Franklin still may fight one final time in the UFC, but he's keeping himself occupied in a number of other areas for the time being. He's got a juice business that he's been concentrating on recently, and on Saturday morning he said he's got a new job offer on the table in the MMA world.
Writing about it on his Facebook page, Franklin said he's been offered a position with ONE FC, and is considering taking it. Not only that, but he's gotten the UFC's blessing to take the job as well.
"I have been in talks with ONE FC about taking a job with them," Franklin wrote. "They offered me a position as VP. I will be heading to ONE FC headquarters in the next few weeks to work out the details. I met with Dana and Lorenzo at the end of last year and they gave me their blessing. I will keep you posted."
Penick's Analysis: Dana White said after Saturday's UFC on Fox 11 post-fight press conference that it wouldn't preclude Franklin from fighting in the UFC one more time if he took this position. Given it was something Franklin discussed ahead of time with them as well, it's a different situation from what some others have run up against. Granted, Franklin also has a better relationship with the UFC than someone like Randy Couture, and him working with ONE FC also gives the UFC another in connection with that organization.
