Before her next Title defense in July, UFC Women's Champ Ronda Rousey will be making an appearance on a different Fox property: American Idol.
Rousey found out herself alongside media members in Los Angeles, Calif., this past week, with UFC President Dana White revealing the news (via FoxSports.com).
Per White, the move comes after the UFC tried to get some added exposure in their key demos, with producers of Idol on board provided Rousey would be involved.
Rousey appears on Wednesday's episode, likely as some type of motivational figure for the remaining contestants. She'll then defend her title against Alexis Davis on July 5 at UFC 175.
PENICK'S ANALYSIS: Rousey's just all over the place these days, but what's incredible is that in addition to all of this outside distraction in which she's partaking, she is defending her title with a remarkable frequency right now. Her fight with Davis, though not the most thrilling of proposed matchups, represents the third title defense she'll have had in just over a six month stretch. So no matter what you think of Rousey outside the cage, the work ethic has to be admired.
