Former UFC competitor Tyson Griffin tried to stir some things up with UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones on Wednesday via Twitter, taking some direct message exchanges to the public after Jones brushed him off.
Griffin began things by calling Jones out for his comments this week about Daniel Cormier.
Penick's Analysis: For anyone who has criticized Jones for being "fake" in the past, he's clearly no longer trying to live up to any standards of conduct you might want to place on him. The simple fact of the matter is he's quite possibly the best MMA fighter on the planet, so he's not going to be bothered by criticisms from fans and fighters, especially those not in the UFC. And he's got a point in regards to Cormier; he's fighting Glover Teixeira next. That's what's happening. After that is the rematch with Alexander Gustafsson that everyone was wanting to see after UFC 165. Cormier might be after that, but he doesn't have to act as if Cormier's next in line off a win over Pat Cummins.
