A middleweight bout between Costas Philippou and Lorenz Larkin is heading to Cincinnati, as the UFC announced on Sunday that the bout will come to UFC Fight Night 40 on May 10.
Philippou is in serious need of a victory, having lost his last two fights in the UFC. The former rising contender had a winning streak snapped by Francis Carmont, and followed that up with a brutal loss to Luke Rockhold in January at UFC Fight Night 35 in Atlanta.
Larkin has lost two of his three fights in the UFC, losing a questionable decision to Carmont and dropping a decision in an off performance against Brad Tavares. Those losses sandwiched a win over Chris Camozzi at UFC Fight For The Troops 3.
The UFC's May 10 return to Cincinnati is still awaiting a headlining fight.
