The UFC has added two new fights to their debut event in Baltimore this April, announcing on Monday that flyweights Joseph Benavidez and Tim Elliott will square off, while women's bantamweights Jessamyn Duke and Bethe Correia will meet as well at UFC 172.
Benavidez gets back on the horse after his second loss to Demetrious "Mighty Mouse" Johnson last December. The brutal knockout was the first time he'd ever been stopped, and was his third loss in title fights dating back to his time in the WEC.
He'll try to get back on track against Elliott, who hopes to bounce back from his loss in November to Ali Bagautinov. Elliott had won his previous two fights into UFC 167, but was out-classed en route to a decision loss.
Duke and Correia hope to build off of wins in their respective UFC debuts last fall. Duke defeated fellow Ultimate Fighter 18 teammate Peggy Morgan at the TUF 18 Finale. She's officially undefeated as her sole loss was overturned to a no contest due to an illegal knee.
Correia made an impression in her debut, defeating Julie Kedzie on short notice in December at UFC Fight Night 33 by split decision. That moved her to 7-0 overall in her young MMA career.
UFC 172 takes place from Baltimore, Maryland, on April 26, headlined by a Light Heavyweight Championship bout between Jon Jones and Glover Teixeira.
