The news for Michael Bisping is good indeed. The UFC confirmed on Thursday afternoon that Bisping has been cleared to return, and as planned he'll headline "The Ultimate Fighter: Nations" Finale on April 16 in a bout with Tim Kennedy.
The UFC was targeting the fight - which has been built up with months of trash talking between the two in interviews and social media - but it was left slightly in limbo until Bisping was cleared in an eye exam. That was required as he's spent the last nine months on the sideline after undergoing two surgeries to repair a detached retina.
The Kennedy-Bisping talk began after Kennedy defeated Rafael Natal last November. Bisping's tried to contend that Kennedy's below him in the pecking order, but he wanted the fight to shut Kennedy up. Now they'll have that fight, which will serve as a five round main event for the Fox Sports 1 card.
The April 16 event comes to Quebec City, the UFC's first event in the city, and will feature the "TUF: Nations" finals bout along with the coaches bout between Patrick Cote and Kyle Noke.
