Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira's targeting a return to the UFC around May, and his opponent may be set.
According to a report from UFC Tonight on Fox Sports 2 this Wednesday, the UFC is targeting Nogueira for a fight with Roy Nelson, which could come in Abu Dhabi as soon as May.
Nogueira hasn't fought since last June, when he had his arm damaged by an armbar from Fabricio Werdum. It was the second injury he'd suffered by an armlock in the UFC, as he had his arm snapped by a kimura from Frank Mir in their second fight in 2011. He's now swapped wins and losses in his last eight fights dating back to 2008.
As for Nelson, he's now lost two straight fights, dropping decisions to Stipe Miocic and Daniel Cormier. Prior to that, he had won three straight fights by (T)KO.
If an event does come to Abu Dhabi, it will be the UFC's first return back to the middle eastern city since April of 2010.
